Snapdeal is Partnering up with FLO to Commence ‘Women Entrepreneurship in E-Commerce’ initiative.

There aren’t enough reasons to thank a woman for doing what she does. One can only ‘look at the stars’ and remind women how they shine for you, just like the stars. Women all over India are celebrating the spirit of Women’s Day and Snapdeal along with FLO has announced one more reason, for women entrepreneurs, to celebrate Women’s Day with more zest and zeal.
What better news could reach the ears of budding women entrepreneurs on this day, meant to celebrate all women around the world? Prior to the celebration of Women’s Day, Snapdeal announced their partnership with FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO), after signing an MoU to allow digital addition of 4000 women entrepreneurs and artisans across India on its popular eComerce platform. Even though if they are associated with any of the FICCI FLO Chapters across 15 sites in India. The MoU was signed in order to commence the initiative of ‘Women Entrepreneurship in E-Commerce’.
The initiative was undertaken to keep up with India’s growing command over the global e-commerce market and also introduce women to venture into the area with their own business ideas. The move will help improve women empowerment by giving them a digitized platform to run and grow their startups or companies.
FICCI FLO along with Snapdeal aims to work in alliance in order to educate women entrepreneurs and artisans in India to gain a foothold on digital commerce as well. This partnership for ‘WE in E-commerce’ will significantly help the growth of women-led entrepreneurship in India and help increase their leverage over global economy and markets.
The main objective of this joint initiative is to provide economic empowerment to women and facilitate a direct connection between the market and women via e-commerce. It also aims to reach out to under privileged women and women in non-urban locations where they have limited or negligent knowledge of how to manage finances properly or handle the changes in the market.
Snapdeal looks forward to creating 1million successful online entrepreneurs by providing them a base to venture into new markets across geographical topologies and enabling new opportunities for women entrepreneurs and artisans through their association with FICCI FLO and their mission to incorporate new channels for them in the digital world. FICCI FLO aims to provide these entrepreneurs and artisans a digital platform on Snapdeal, launching an online store ‘FLO Women of India’, following which a digital list of partnering NGOs and artisans will be updated.
Snapdeal will also grant permit to women entrepreneurs to manage their inventories and orders on their mobile handsets itself. This will be made possible after the entrepreneurs will be given access to Snapdeal’s Seller Panel. This move will gain a stronger foundation by the prompt ‘Click-Upload-Sell’ feature on the Shopo App.
The FICCI FLO online store ‘FLO Women of India’ will accommodate a variety of products via a diverse assortment and product categories which will also be given access to Snapdeal’s web portal, android and other mobile apps as well as access to the Shopo App, Snapdeal’s C2C platform.
