Paytm’s Next Step is to Encourage Women Entrepreneurs

As a part of celebrating international women’s day, Paytm has announced that its next step will be to invest in encouraging women entrepreneurs. Though women empowerment is a term that brings about déjà vu, its intensity and the radius of this ‘empowerment’ are still very much debatable, especially in a country like India.  Paytm, which happens to be India’s largest mobile payments platform, has decided to bring about some change in this front on this women’s day.

Paytm aims to support those women entrepreneurs who have decided to go the digital way. It feels that the best way to empower a woman is by supporting her in her initiatives, and this is exactly what the company is planning to do. Though the market has numerous programs targeting this very goal, many have proven to be ineffective.

How is Paytm going to make a difference then?

Paytm is going to work with women entrepreneurs across India to assist the company in senior management. Paytm aims to condition these budding business women and help them pitch long- term roadmaps for achieving their future goals. This will certainly be a golden chance for many of the women out there who aspire to make their mark in the national and international market.

The Vice Gupta talked about how many promising women entrepreneurs have registered with the President of Paytm, Sudhanshu company platform to be a part of this innovative venture. He pointed out how the participants belong to diverse fields and regions and how their coming together would open up new ideas and opportunities. From homemakers to Instagram sellers, the list is vast and varied. It is amazing how Paytm is ready to offer these women a platform to grow and get familiar with the learning curve. They can gain a lot from the company’s experienced management, and the company in turn can learn a thing or two from these lady pioneers, who have set out to change the world.

The recent explosion of the e-commerce of India has played an important role in increasing the rate of business women, and business person in general, in our country. The Startup India Campaign and the Make in India program too have contributed to a great deal in boosting the economy of our country. Paytm is a strong supporter of such initiatives and is now on board with an equally effective venture of its own.

At present, Paytm proudly caters to over one lakh sellers and is aiming to take this number even higher. By the end of this year the company expects to have five lakh sellers. Paytm offers a great platform to these sellers to promote and sell their wares. Currently, the company has 120 million registered users. Paytm allows its users to gain access to over 31000 pin codes within India. Some of its other recent initiatives include Paytm Force and PaytmGoBig.com, which provide
