About Chai Point

The Bengaluru-based Tea retail chain startup, Chai Point introduces a smart, IoT-enabled tea dispensing machine, known as ‘boxC’ is especially designed to serve the corporate officials and employees. Unlike the ordinary tea machines, this will provide tea made from natural tea leaves, which proves to be more healthy and stimulating. Amuleek Singh Bijral is the co-founder and CEO of Chai Point. The trial of this machine is conducted in five mid-sized corporates in Bangalore and NCR.

How does boxC work?

Chai Point has partnered with IT product manufacturers in India for making boxC. It will be connected to a cloud platform. Anybody can have an access to it and keep a track on the functioning of the machines as well as the billing process. It is made in such a way that it will be easily adaptable to new software in the future.

About the Funding

The startup had raised $10 million (Rs 66.35 crore) from a funding round led by Fidelity’s proprietary investment arm, Eight Roads Ventures, with participation from Saama Capital, an existing investor and DSG Consumer Partners. With the funds, Chai Point had planned to expand its geographical reach to other cities as well as to grow the delivery component of business, Chai on Call and Chai at Work. Chai at Work provides superior quality freshly brewed beverages to corporate companies through convenient models during working hours.

More about Chai Point

Currently, Chai Point serves more than 1.5 lakh cups of tea every day through orders as well as from its 100 physical stores located in five cities. The company is already popular for its semi-automatic dispensers. Till date, it has manufactured and sold 1000 semi-automatic dispensers in 100 companies.

By the end of the year, Chai Point expects 100 more customers for boxC.
