Locus, a Bangalore-based on-demand, high-end logistics management platform has raised a funding of $2.75 million in Series A, the company’s most significant round after the seed funding for venture capital financing. The funding was led by Exfinity Venture Partners, Blume Ventures, BeeNext, Rajesh Ranavat, MD of Fung Capital and existing investors also participated in this round. It had raised seed funding in July last year from growX Ventures and angel investors like Bhupen Shah, Manish Singha and Amit Ranjan. This new round of funding aims at expanding its logistic team and offer a state-of-the-art technology to upgrade the delivery services. Nishith Rastogi is the CEO of Locus.

The on-demand logistic of Locus features automated smart dispatches, tracking and fleet visualization, geocoding and route deviation engine. The funding will be used to strengthen its technology offerings and expand the team. Locus has created sophisticated algorithms and systems for smoothening and optimizing their delivery services of local companies, enterprises and startup businesses.

Locus facilitates its customers with real-time driver tracking. Urban Ladder, its one of the major clients, who have benefited greatly from Locus services since its productivity scaled up by 25% within the period of three months.

The scenario of Logistics is rapidly changing in India and is quite a lucrative industry. Hence, giants like Snapdeal, Flipkart, Amazon and Quikr India Pvt. Ltd. are paving a way to step into the market by making investments.
