Vertical Take-Off Plane Startup raises $3Million through Crowd funding

XTI Aircraft Company raised $3 Million through crown funding recently. It is working on TriFan 600 A, a vertical Take-Off plane model.

Travelling by your personal jet would be easily envisioned as next generation commute within the city. It will enable us to travel without hassles of road traffic thus saving a lot of time. But this requires a model that can work inside the cities. A startup called XTI Aircraft Company, is working on a model that gathered interest from everyone. This company has started working on a model which doesn’t require a runway. It is planning to make a vertical take-off model that can take flight from a fixed location.

The investment is going to contribute more in the development of prototype. The first model they are working is TriFan 600. XTI Aircarft is a Delaware based startup founded by Dave Brody.

About TriFan 600:

Using three ducted fans, the TriFan 600 lifts off vertically and in seconds the two wing fans rotate forward for a seamless transition to high-speed flight. Within just 90 seconds, the airplane reaches cruise speed – where the lift is provided by the wings just like every other fixed-wing airplane. The fuselage-mounted fan, no longer needed, closes up. The airplane flies directly to its destination and reverses the process. Landing vertically right where it needs to be – wherever there’s a clear helipad-sized paved surface.

Takeaways:

  • XTI Aircraft is working on a vertical take-off plane and gathered $3 Million through crowd funding.
  • The investment will help in accelerating the work on TriFan 600, the first vertical take-off private jet.
