Big Fish raises 75 crore from angel investors

New Delhi based company Big Fish ventures is a company founded by Mr. Umang Tewari that is a hospitality, restaurant and dining game changer in the capital. It boasts of restaurants like ‘out of the box’ and ‘the junkyard café’.

In a recent round of funding, this company has garnered Rs. 75 crore as funds from several angel investors and its founder Mr. Umang Tewari. With this investment, it intends on expand its range of restaurants, and create more food and beverage outlets under the label and eventually create a better dining experience for its customers.

The founder also went on to state that these funds will be used to create a little more web presence for the company and its brands. And also this year would mark BigFish ventures’ foray into the food and dining industry outside of the capital city. They intend on creating restaurants in Mumbai, Dubai , Hyderabad, Punjab , Chandigarh and Pune. And not just this, the company seeks to further expand its ambit to outside of the country, into cities like London and China.

The company is also working on creating a garden café with a courtyard concept, and another which is called ‘OMG – Oh my god’ , a brand name owned by BigFish ventures.

A significant growth has been witnessed in the dining sector, and customers from all walks of life all seek not just food now, but an experience of sorts – and are not shying away from paying for the experience to be delivered.

Investment in a company that provides a fine dining experience is a testament to the same. But the restaurant sector’s capability is yet to be fully tapped, say experts.
