Bibox- A fun to learn science through a Bengaluru-based startup

When Sandeep Senan was studying engineering , he always found his interest in practicals rather than the theory. He use to help out his seniors in their projects. “A couple of my final year projects were picked up by DRDO”, says Senon.  It was only his love for the science projects that made him to turn into a entrepreneur and start Bibox, which is a educational technology company. While doing a full time job in an IT firm , Senan use to conduct science workshops in schools and colleges and found that kids were anxious in applying their learning to build up their science models.

The Story Behind Bibox

“That’s when I thought about building a program to help kids work on a real life problem. They shouldn’t have to wait to complete their formal education to develop such models,” says Senan, 32. Founded in April 2012, BiBox’s learning methodology helps children understand science by helping them build projects. “It prepares and conditions their mind for challenges, stimulates creative thinking and collaborative efforts, among other things,” says Senan.

A project based learning provides students adequate exposure to science, technology, engineering, arts  and maths even to those who were not interested in science. “It helps students to analyse, think critically and look at a problem as an opportunity to learn something new,” says Senan. Bibox stands for Brain in a Box as their company supplies a tool kit (the brain) that can be used to create a vaiety of models such as traffic lights, auto-locking doors, asthma detector, robotic arm for lifting things among others.
