IndiTatva, an e-commerce startup brings you Indian made handicrafts and handlooms

There is something mesmerizing about handmade jewelry and accessories as they make every girl go awe with their modish appearance. To help village-based craftsmen and promoting their products a new Mumbai based startup called IndiTatva is bringing you exclusivehandicraftscurated products from different parts of India.It is ventured byTriCycle Tribe in the handloom and handicrafts segment.

It offers from art to pre-drape saree’s to artifact’s to apparels and the company focuses on promoting our India’s proud heritage of artistic traditions to the world. India with its diverse culture and geographies has a rich collection of artistry forms from hand-woven textiles to handcrafted jewelry. The country houses painting from the remotest regions to embroidery done by the village women while they hum away to folk music, is a tradition.

IndiTatva plans to unearth these treasures that are quintessentially Indian, made with love and skills passed from generation to generation.IndiTatva curates them to match the eclectic styleretaining its core essence. The endeavour at IndiTatva is to unearth the stories and culture behind the crafts, connect and work with the artisans giving them recognition and a sense of pride.

The varied range of products available on this portal includes – running handloom fabrics / handloom taaga, handloom dress material sets with dupatta, readymade women’s wear made with handloom fabrics , running Khadi fabric– taaga, readymade women’s wear made with khadi, handcrafted jewelry from various regions, paintings from various regions of India: Madhubani , Gond etc, artifacts from various regions of India: wooden toys from Konkan, metal Dokra art from Orissa, handmade home ware like – table linen, bed covers etc, bags – handmade and handloom, handloom scarves, stoles  & dupattas, embroidery work from various regions of India, handmade paper stationery, handmade – Toileteries like – Soaps & Scrubs

What does Deepti Kshirsagar, Co- Founder of the company has to say about this?

“We intend to take Indian heritage of handlooms and handicrafts to the Boardroom and the ultramodern homes in India and Abroad. Handicraft reflects the culture and skill of local population and hence, the country. India is one of the most sought after destinations for handicraft due to variation in culture and people who produce varied kinds of handicraft. The Indian handicrafts industry is fragmented, with more than 7 million regional artisans and more than 67,000 exporters/export houses promoting regional art and craftsmanship in the domestic and global markets, mostly women and people from weaker sections of the society get job in this industry.Our endeavor at IndiTatva will be to unearth the stories and culture behind the crafts, connect and work with the artisans giving them recognition and imbibe a sense of pride in them for being a part of this movement of creating exclusive yet sustainable works of art, textile and crafts”, stated Deepti Kshirsagar.

More about the Founder and Co-Founder of IndiTatva

Swapnil Kshirsagar, Founder of the company started his journey by being a Diploma holder in Electric Engineering and a digital strategist with 15 years of industry experience having worked with renowned agencies like Grey worldwide, Mediaturf, and lastly heading STC Associates as the Regional Director. This cumulative experience and immense understanding of digital medium triggered him in exploring true potential of this medium to solve problems small and large. This belief led him to form an independent digital venture called Tricycle Tribe which could encompass various projects in digital medium. He is a multifaceted personality with and immense passion in travelling and an avid biker. This travelling bug widened his perspective towards the diversity of India and its culture and its inaccessibility to the people, so when the idea of IndiTatva was discussed after one such trip between Swapnil and his wife – Deepti, they decided to route in his digital expertise in bringing this idea alive and take it to the next level.

Deepti Kshirsagar, co-founder is an Art Graduate from Sophia polytechnic Mumbai and has been working in the Design and branding industry from last two decades. She has been the founder of WOW Design, a strategic branding and design firm based in Mumbai. During her childhood days, seeds of grounded handcrafted goodness were being sown subconsciously in her mind which led to her further education in art albeit with much struggle to complete it and thus landed her in to the fascinating world of art and design.
