Ola partners up with Apple Music, Qualcomm, and Sony Digital to introduce Ola Play

introducing connected car experience !

Ola’s new in-car entertainment experience

Today, Ola has announced its new launch of connected car experience can also be called as in-car entertainment. It has collaborated with music and video content creators such as Apple Music, Qualcomm, Sony Digital, Audio Compass, Fynd, and Mahindra & Mahindra, and others for this feature.  Ola play will be available in metro cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi or all Ola Select customers in a week. Within three months it will also available in  OlaPrime rides.

Why the need of such experience?

Bhavish Agarwal, Co-founder and CEO of Ola believes that car were initially for drivers but with ride sharing, this control can be taken over by passengers too and Ola Play is an excellent plan for that. It also has opened various opportunities for partners to play with and developers can create some elevating experience for customers. The main motto is to give control to the commuter rather than drivers. Mr. Agarwal thinks that with experience they can make Ola ride lot better than personal car ride.

The idea is to give commuters the control of Wi-Fi, music, navigation, car sound, temperature and other things too. Ola Play’s hardware is partnered with Qualcomm. One can also choose to visit different landmarks, read e-Books, watch video and other things too.

More about Ola and Uber

The company is believed to have 75 percent of market share and has nine different categories – Mini, Micro, Prime, Share, Shuttle, Auto, Lux, Rentals, and Outstation. This launch by Ola is somewhat similar to what Uber did when it partnered with Spotify in 2014 and the integration was for all Uber and Spotify Premium users on iOS and Android.

We can also say it has been very stimulating year for taxicab aggregators due to government and transport department hassles to the surge pricing dilemma and much more But Ola has been working hard and is launching various categories partnering up with many companies doing everything to fight the San Francisco giant cab company.
