HolaChef In Talks to Raise $6 million in VC Round

Gearing Up For The Latest Funding Round
Mumbai-based food tech startup, Holachef, is tightening its belt to go for a new round of funding amounting to $6 million. The venture capital funding round will be led by the already existing investor, Kalaari Capital.
Holachef is a food delivery startup founded by Saurabh Saxena and Anil Gelra in 2014 that delivers home-cooked meal to its customers.
Investors
The food tech startup is in talks with Sidbi Venture Capital Ltd., which is a subsidiary and a wholly owned asset management company under Small Industries Development Bank of India. Kalaari Capital is said to be investing somewhere near $3.5 million in this round. Sidbi will be the other significant investor. Holachef is also in talks with Tata Sons Ltd chairman emeritus, Ratan Tata, to come onboard this round. India Quotient has also been approached for the same.
Previous Funding Rounds
This year in July, Holachef had raised venture capital of near $2 million from Kalaari Capital and India Quotient. Before that, the startup had its Series A round of worth $3.1 million in June, 2015.
Holachef had raised $1.95 million in funding from two of its existing venture capital investors Kalaari Capital and India Quotient.
This funding round will help the startup in strengthening its operations and expanding to other cities as well.
