Ratan Tata backs Delhi-basedfoodtech venture, IdeaChakki

“Digitial Video Menu” concept gets funded!
IdeaChakki is a food tech startup based in New Delhi. Recently, this company raised an undisclosed amount of funding from the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, Mr. Ratan Tata. Additionally, it was reported that the startup has partnered with Enablers for their next round of funding.
What is IdeaChakki all about?
Started by three former NDTV executives, Monica Narula, Noopur Tiwari and Gunjan Mehrish; IdeaChakki is all about providing digital video menus for restaurants. Thus, allowing customers to gift food and beverage experiences anywhere in the world.
Their interactive app loads on to restaurant screens and allows guests to make selections according to their preferences of choice. It also displays short videos related to the dishes present in the restaurants.
IdeaChakki app users can get to know everything from how the dish is prepared to small notes ranging from pronunciation to origin of the dish. Users can easily navigate menus and thus get a simple picture of what to expect from a dish.
Utilization of the recently raised funds
IdeaChakki says that the funds received from Tata will primarily be used for its expansion into new geographies, building their in-house team and strengthening its technology.
As per reports, the startup is currently targeting premium restaurants in the Delhi NCR region. Moreover, it aims to have its operations throughout the country. At present, they have also planned to set up their first international office in Paris. These plans look really interesting. Wish to see their plans come true.
Reportedly, the founders are quite happy with their recent funding. They believe that Ratan Tata’s validation of the idea will help in attracting more investors for IdeaChakki. Still, they have a long way to go.
