Amity − A New Interactive Messaging App For Both Android As Well As iOS.

Towards a better iMessage

Everyone has been waiting for the release of iOS 10 so that they can finally get hold of the new iMessage app. The salient features of this new iMessage are message bubbles, animations, handwriting, tapbacks, and invisible ink and much more. Although to avail this functionality in group chats, everyone would have to update their device. But no worries! Amity is here to save the day.

What is Amity?

Founded by Johnny Cheng- Co-founder and CEO- and his team, Amity is a new and interactive messaging app with all the same functionalities and it’s both for Android as well as iOS.

What are its features?

The Australia-based startup has been working on this for last two years with their 8 team members. What makes Amity stand out from other messaging apps is its interactive features. For example, one can send high-fives; nudge that makes the recipient’s screen shake. One can request for the picture, video, or location with just a touch of the button. It also has another feature called ‘Live Mode’ that enables two or more users to join the same chat screen. One can even send live emojis; live touch gestures and emojis bursts in this mode.

How can one add the user in Amity?

To have more users on its platform, Amity uses various ways like adding them by mobile numbers; invite from contacts; add from username; add from twitter. One can even also add contacts by nearby location via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Future plans of Amity

The company is looking forward to raising a seed funding round. The first investor of the company is Mick Johnson- Facebook’s former Product Director- who has invested somewhere close to a five-figure amount.

The app is available for both Android and iOS.
