Detect And Send Unwanted Drones Home With Apollo Shield

Is It Possible?

What is Apollo Shield?

Recently, startup Apollo Shield founded by Nimo Shkedy (CEO) and Gilad Beeri (CTO) presents an anti-drone system to detect the drones flying in the area where they are not wanted or authorized and compels them to fly back home. The purpose of this innovation is to sell it to the managers or owners of venues that have severe security requirements such as nuclear facilities, oil refineries, airports, stadiums, hotels, prisons and buildings where the public figures or high-net-worth individuals may reside.

How it Works?

As per news, Apollo Shield system consists of a unit that is installed on the ground containing antennae and a radio. Each unit can scan an area for the drone communications. Adding a few units will allow a user to protect the entire area of a venue of any size.

What are its Benefits?

Data from the system links via a cloud-based “command center” online that a user can handle automatically or review manually. The system not only detects the weather or presence of drones in the area, but also can detect the type of drone, and it’s unique ID. Moreover, it also lets a user to capture a drone, or apply safety measures to it, not compelling it to land but commanding it to return back home.

Is it really possible to make drones listen to our commands as Apollo Shield claims? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
