Startup That Offers Bartering Services Online

The New Way of Bartering!

About Simbi

US-based startup and a part of Y Combinator’s current batch, Simbi is a marketplace where people can easily barter services and skills online. Simbi is a short form of “Symbiotic”. The platform is still operating on the beta version and is open to users who are 18 years or above age. As of now, 15,000 variety of services, ranging from business and tech skills to magic and beatboxing are being offered by the users.

Currently, the startup is working on improving the search and matching the algorithms that help the users to find services they want or people who want what they have to offer on Simbi.

Simbi faces direct competition from freelance marketplaces like Fiverr, TaskRabbit and even edtech platforms like Udemy or Udacity.

Soon, Simbi plans to come out with its app in both, iOS and Android platforms.

About Funding

Recently, the startup raised a seed funding of $1.2 Million to market its platform and hiring professionals. Greylock Discovery fund, Crunchfund, and Ranch Ventures invested in the round along with Y Combinator. Kjerstin “KJ” Erickson is the founder and CEO of Simbi.
