Story of Jack Ma

Startup Buzz Media portrays the life journey (including personal and professional) of Jack Ma, Founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group. He is the first Chinese entrepreneur to appear on the cover of Forbes. Born on 10 September 1964 in China, he learnt English by having conversation with foreigners. Although he failed three times in university entrance exams, he graduated with bachelor’s degree in English in 1988. Later he became university lecturer in English and International Trade.
Jack Ma is using the internet and Alibaba’s influence to induce more global trade and to help small and medium enterprises. He launched a site known as Chinapage for which he got various responses. He then joined hands with government but stepped out of the company due to rigid bureaucracy. After that, he took a job in Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economics in 1988 where he made great friends with people like Jerry (founding member of Yahoo). Shortly he left his job and started his own company, Alibaba.
Then again, he launched an online auction site, taobao.com, which made rivals with ebay.com. Ebay offered to buy taobao but Ma refused. He got much recognition from China Central Television, World Economic Forum, and Business Week. He is also an environmentalist and has pledged to give 0.3% revenue from Alibaba Group to environmental protection. He also gained control of Alipay honorary Doctorate degree from Honk Kong University. In 2015, he was presented with the Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Asian Award show.
