Google In A Family Pack: Enhancing Its Play Store Category

Exploring the New “Family Library” and Eight More Apps!
About the New Family Library Feature
Google starts a new family affair by launching its unique and cool ’family library’ feature, allowing users to share apps, games, books and video purchases with their family members, across android devices. With no extra charges, the share will be available for smartphones, tablets, and TVs. Applications from games, movies, and books can be shared with up to six people. However, music and albums will have to be subscribed and are not a part of this deal.
Adding to the vast variety of application categories is a decision in a bid to make the operating system more informative and user-friendly.
More about the new feature
Google’s new pitch looks more like an answer to Apple’s family sharing, where iOS users have been enjoying this feature for the last two years. The launch will happen in countries like US, Australia, and Europe initially.
To add more joy and make it more user-friendly, Google unrolls its plan to boost more categories, which were not present earlier. The improvised browsing facility will have additions like Art & Design, Auto & Vehicles, Beauty, Dating, Events, Food & Drink, House & Home, and Parenting. Additionally, Transportation will be renamed to Maps & Navigation and the Media & Video category will become Video Players & Editors. Well, more the merrier, the additional eight categories will be apparent in Google play in the next 60 days for a better browsing experience.
Words of Wisdom
Sarah Karam, Google Play Apps (Business Development)mentioned on the Android developers blog that “To improve the overall search experience, we’re introducing new app categories and renaming a few existing ones, making them more comprehensive and relevant to what users are looking for today.”
