Startup For Personalized Shopping For Kids

Now, no more convincing kids to go for shopping!
About Rockets of Awesome:
Rockets of Awesome is an online shopping startup for kids that send boxes of clothes for home trials. Rachel Blumenthal, the founder, and CEO of the startup raised a seed investment of $7 million from General Catalyst, Forerunner Ventures, and LAUNCH. This startup is quite similar to Stitch Fix, which is currently dominating the women market and Trunk club for men. Rockets of Awesome is the first-of-its-kind, catering to kids clothing.
The startup does not charge any fees or shipping charges. Rockets of Awesome’s talented team of stylists have formerly worked for major brands like J.Crew, Gilt, and Kate Spade. Zia Taylor, Senior Vice President of design and merchandising has 20 years of experience (working at notable children’s firms Oshkosh B’gosh, Gap Kids and 77kids by American eagle). Its products are manufactured in Asia and Dominican Republic.
How does it work?
Firstly, parents have to just sign up (It’s free). Then, the website asks questions regarding their child’s style and personality. The user has to select the size (Available from 2 to 14), height, age etc for their child. The online store then delivers the box of 12 items every 3 months. Each item will be roughly costing $20, making the box worth $250 approximately. However, the buyers only have to pay for clothes they want to keep. In this way, Rockets of Awesome has introduced a very risk-free concept for shopping.
The home trial is something that kids would appreciate since they find shopping boring and tiresome. With Rockets of Awesome, Blumenthal is aiming to simplify the process of shopping for kids. Since every kid has a different taste in style, the startup houses a broad range of clothing variety. It is not just an online shopping portal; it is a platform that provides you a personal shopping experience.
