A Helmet That Takes Cycling to the Next Level

Classon Can Do A Lot More Than Just Protect Your Head

U.S. startup Brooklyness has just come up with the smartest helmet you have ever seen until now. Loaded with gesture-enabled turn indicators, blind spot detection and automatic brake lights, the new Classon helmet is offering more than what meets the eye.

Features

Co-founder Manuel Saez is excited and for a pretty good reason too. The Classon helmet is one-of-its-kind product with a handful of features:

  • LED indicator lights that indicate the driver’s intentions.
  • On-board accelerometer that automatically turns on the brake lights when it detects reducing speed.
  • Gesture-enabled helmet that uses sensors to read the rider’s body movement and blink the indicators based on the person’s hand gesture.
  • Onboard cameras that enable you to live stream HD videos. The supporting app helps you edit and share those videos.
  • Cameras that also scan the area for approaching vehicles and help you navigate better.
  • A 4 GB card that can store up to 6 hours of HD recording.
  • Up to 2.5 hours of operation per charge.

These are some of the features that distinguish Classon helmet from its competitors. The ‘video editing and sharing’ feature is only available to Classon Club members. One can take the subscription for an added fee.

Kickstarter Campaign

The Kickstarter campaign, which Brooklyness launched for its Classon is already on its path to becoming a success. It has already surpassed its goal of US$30,000. They were also giving away helmets to super early birds for a minimum pledge amount of $99.
