Taxi service has grown a lot over the year. With companies like Ola and Uber providing door to door pick-up and drop services, people prefer to travel via these services rather than any normal cab. Recently, Ola introduced its all-new section of luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW and Audi to attract more high-end customers in India. Meanwhile, Uber that is known worldwide launched a unique on-demand chopper ride service, ‘Ubercopter’ between airports, hotels and convention centers.

Sao Paulo, Brazil becomes the first city in the world to avail Uber’s air services. Air travel offers a fast and premium mode of transfer, but not many can afford it expenses. Sao Paulo has more than 400 aircraft and nearly as many helipads.

Uber aims to revolutionize the air service scenario by making easily available to all as well as making commuting smooth as you can avoid the heavy traffic. Hence, Uber tries making air travel as reasonable as possible for a lift from Helicentro Morumbi, one of Sao Paulo’s richest neighborhoods to the Blue Tree hotel across the river. It charges as per seat, starting at around $20.

Currently, it is a pilot program, connecting four airports and five other helipads, which is Uber’s biggest step yet in partnership with Airbus Group, which was announced in January.

In recent years, Uber conducted some experiments with helicopter rides to the Coachella and Bonnaroo music festivals from nearby US airports that cost as much as $3,000 to book a full helicopter with door-to-door SUV rides.

Spanish rival, Cabify lately launched its car services in Sao Paulo. Cabify is already in talks with three flight providers since it plans to offer helicopter rides in the city by the end of the year.
