Sydney-based startup, Seatfrog debuts in booking-to-gate platform that allows passengers to bid for seat upgrades in your flight. You can bid for the vacant seats available in business or first class until you reach the departure gate with the help of real time updates on ticket bookings. All you have to do is feed in the flight details in its dedicated app anytime before the take-off. You can see the current prices and track others action of auction through the app. In this way, you can travel conveniently as well as the airlines can earn some extra revenue. Moreover, it increases the efficiency of the entire booking system of airlines. As soon as you pay for your upgradation of seats, a new boarding pass will be issued directly on your smartphone, which will be scanned at the boarding gate. Frequent flyers that opt for upgrade via its app are awarded by Seatfrog.
Recently, the startup raised $1.2 million in the seed funding round, which was led by London-based capital firm, HOWZAT Partners. With this funding, Seatfrog will strengthen its team and boost the development to accelerate the company’s growth.
