On-demand driver startup DriversKart Acquires Driven

DriversKart is a Chennai-based on-demand driver provider startup. Whereas, Driven is a Mumbai-based startup that develops driver hiring app.
It is quite surprising to witness that the on-demand driver market in India had seen two accomplished mergers and acquisition deals in a time period of one month. Recently, Driverskart, a Chennai-based on-demand, affordable driver/ chauffeur provider for private cars startup company took over Mumbai-based startup, Driven, who is into developing app for hiring drivers. The acquisition happened just after a week of Bengaluru-based DriveU’s acquisition of CallAtHome. However, the buying remains undisclosed. Both the startups were started in the year 2015. Founded by Vinit Srivastava and Saksham Grover, DriversKart currently operates in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Chennai.
With this successful acquisition, DriversKart aims to lead India’s on-demand driver industry. It has plans to expand its operations in Mumbai with the help of Driven. The Mumbai-based startup has partnered with 150 drivers that services 1000 customers per month, making an average of Rs. 400 per ride.
DriversKart is competing with DriveU, Zuver, Zimmber and Driver Bulao. In April 2016, Driverskart had raised pre-Series A funding led by Namit Agarwal, Primarc Group, Lead Angels, ah! Ventures, and Silicon Valley investors. The app is available on both, Android and iOS devices.
