Walt Disney signs a deal with Nokia for its Virtual Reality Camera, OZO

The entertainment giant, The Walt Disney Studios has teamed up with Nokia Technologies for its Virtual Reality (VR) camera, OZO. Disney targets to complement its movies with a VR experience for the viewers.
Virtual reality is getting extremely famous in the gaming world. But imagine how marvelous it would be if it is implemented in the feature movies. The Walt Disney Studios is planning to do the same by using Nokia’s OZO virtual reality camera. Nokia will also provide software, which will facilitate Disney marketers and filmmakers the tools they need to create engaging VR content.
“Virtual Reality represents a new frontier in storytelling, and we’re thrilled to be bringing this VR technology to the team at Disney,” said Ramzi Haidamus, President at Nokia Technologies. “OZO will help Disney bring their film properties to life in new ways through immersive entertainment experiences, and our focus will be on helping them get the most out of VR as they begin to uncover all that it has to offer.”
OZO was launched in 2015 and is the world’s first and only virtual reality camera, aimed at professional content creators. The camera features 3D 360 degree spatial audio and video capture, real-time VR preview, total compatibility with professional wokflow and multiple head mounted displays, and the ability to dramatically reduce post production time, complexity and cost.
Nokia will work with Disney to provide equipment and VR technologies to support the creation of special VR content for Disney’s various movies. Nokia and Disney have used OZO to create two 360m degree videos recently, for the premier of Disney’s The Jungle Book- the red carpet and interviews of the cast.
This collaboration will create an extraordinary experience for the audiences around the world. VR merged into entertainment certainly is good news for millions of movie fans.
