Savioke’s Expansion Plans For Its Relay Robot Room Service

The Los Angeles Times recently reported that a company named Savioke is planning to expand on its Relay-robots program. At present it 12 Relay robots functioning in U.S hotels. The company has completed a $15 million series A funding round that will allow it to expand its project on the relay robots who will provide excellent room service.
These robots make it possible for the guests to fulfill all their room service needs and will also free up the staff to focus on others jobs. The robots will use Wi-Fi and 3 D cameras to interact with guests and to navigate from one place to another.
The manager of the Residence Inn on Century Boulevard, LA talks about how the robot in the hotel is a star among the guests. The robot has been named Wall-E, after the famous pixar movie Wall-E and gets a lot of attention from the hotel guests. The managers even pointed out how some order room service just to see and interact with Wall-E.
Savioke talks about how its major focus has always been on robots in the hospitality sector. It kicked off the venture in relay robots using the seed money provided by Google Ventures. Its next objective is to expand this undertaking. Savioke’s press release for January proudly announced that their robots has attended to more than 11,000 guest requests in 2015, which is indeed a ground breaking achievement for them. It is funny how the most common item that was delivered is nothing other than toothpaste!
