Zone India Startups launches new accelerator programme, ‘EmpoWer’ for women entrepreneurs.

To boost the women entrepreneurs who are building technology ventures, Zone Startups India, a Mumbai based venture funds and accelerator has launched an accelerator programme, especially for women.
Women are matching shoulder to shoulder with men in possible every field. There are many programmes and assistance provided by Government of India and many other organizations to boost their participation in entrepreneurship. Zone Startups India has also forward to do the same through its 6 week long accelerator programme called ‘EmpoWer’.
As reported by The Economic Times, Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Director of Zone Startups India said, “Through our Accelerator programme, and various boot-camps, workshops, demo days hosted by us we realized the need for having a focused programme that works with women entrepreneur in tech business. The problems faced by a lot of women entrepreneurs are unique, and we feel that there is a case for having a dedicated accelerator programme for women entrepreneurs.”
Zone Startups India, housed in BSE tower, has accelerated the growth of about 72 startups till date, of which 11 are being co-founded by women entrepreneurs. The programme, ‘EmpoWer’ will be launched through roadshows across Mumbai, Bengaluru and NCR region for attracting more participants. 15 women entrepreneurs will be shortlisted for this programme. The participants will be facilitated with access to mentoring, case studies of successful women led startups, peer network, workshops, industry connect, investor connect and business development opportunities. Zone Startups India will support these women entrepreneurs for another 1 year after the programme.
The ‘EmpoWer’ initiative is supported by Vodafone India, Google, GIZ, Department of Science and Technology, She The People TV, SheEO and Nishith Desai Associates.
