Yahoo Launches A TV-Watching site, Yahoo View

Again Yahoo makes in the news!
Launching the Yahoo View
Yahoo introduces a new TV watching site called Yahoo View that features Hulu’s free content. Now, you can watch Hulu’s TV shows and movies for free. However, Yahoo soon is planning to charge on the subscription basis. On Yahoo View, the users can watch the latest five episodes from their favorite shows from networks like ABC, NBC, and FOX, eight days after their original broadcast. In total, there will be thousands of TV shows, anime, movies, Korean drama, British and Latino content, available, as well as clips and other behind-the-scenes interviews, as has always been on Hulu.
Partnering with Hulu and Tumblr
Hulu is having a long-standing relationship with Yahoo from years. Yahoo was one of the distributors of Hulu content. This deal took around six months to be worked out. Moreover, the service has tied up with Yahoo-owned blogging platform Tumblr. The site features a “Beyond the Episode” section that offers picture-in-picture viewing in order to continue to watch while also surfing Tumblr. Connecting the users to both the official Tumblr for the show as well as the fan community, they can browse art, edits, GIFs and more. Spoilers are visually blocked by Yahoo.
More on the Yahoo View Content
Hulu’s content on Yahoo View will include ads. The revenue generated by it will be shared by both the companies, as per the deal. No Yahoo ads are allowed. However, the only monetary income is the ads.
Currently, Yahoo View is live now on the desktop, but will be available on the mobile web and as native mobile apps for iOS and Android in the near future.
