Xola, a travel managing and marketing software raises $5 million in Series A funding.

Rakuten Travel, Japan’s leading online travel agency has led the funding round of Xola by investing $2.5 million. Xola is also one of the most popular platforms in Japan.

Xola is cloud based software that allows travel companies to manage bookings online or through mobile app, scheduling, managing payments and marketing of the tours. It has raised overall $5 million in series A funding round. This round of funding was led by Rakuten travel by investing $2.5 million. Rakuten travel is the travel branch of Japanase e-commerce giant Rakuten Inc which holds a strong investment portfolio of global, high growth companies.

Established in 2011, Xola has raised a total amount of $6.8 million till date. Funds were acquired last in 2014 through an angel investor of $1.8 million. Tie up with Rakuten will facilitate Xola with an easy entry in many international markets like Asia, America and Europe, as Rakuten already has penetrated these markets. In addition to that this funding will allow Xola to take further develop its mobile and web products for enterprise and travel agencies.
