Whilst online digital methods are a popular way to promote your start-up you shouldn’t neglect to try out some traditional marketing methods too. The old ways can still be extremely successful in bringing in leads and potential sales to your business and really help you get off the ground. In this fast-paced digital world, online advertising has become the most important marketing channel according to The Drum. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try out some of these other methods though, below are some methods that might work for you!

Getting out there and networking can still be one of the best ways to market your business, especially if it’s a start-up. By getting your face out there and marketing your business you can help increase your brands profile within the industry. Networking could include attending talks, seminars or conferences and could be a mixture of national or local events – try to mix it up to make the most of meeting a lot of people. People will only get to know your brand if you shout about it, so get out there and make your brands voice heard.

Getting featured in local print magazines can still help when it comes to promotion – it gets your brands name in front of local potential customers. It can also be cost effective as local magazines and printed outlets will often feature some articles for free (after all it’s free content for them and helps them to promote a local business) Try reaching out to some and seeing if there is anything you could work on together, if you don’t ask you don’t get. Perhaps you could offer a small incentive in the form of a discount or offer to some readers too, this will help encourage some leads.

This is something that is often overlooked when it comes to making marketing plans. It be a great cost-effective way to get your brands name in front of the right people and you can choose a range of branded products. Giving out simple things such as branded pens,t-shirts or key rings can often leave a lasting impression on customers and hopefully generate some leads or sales for your business. You could give these out at events or in store as a way to say thank you to new or loyal customers.
