These startups are changing the traditional way of food processing, food machinery, packaging, ingredient manufacturing, and instrumentation and taking this sector to new range.
Unreal Candy : Everybody loves candy but somehow the sugar that constitutes in them makes it unhealthy to eat. Unreal Candy is solving this problem by using grass-fed dairy and sustainable palm oil instead of usual corn syrup, GMOs, or gluten to create candies. They are imitative candies but just healthier. They produce peanut butter cup, candy-coated chocolates, chocolate caramel, and nougat bars and with these chocolates one doesn’t have to worry about sugar content at all. The start is based in Boston and was founded by Adam Melonas, Nicky Bronner and Michael Bronner.
Real Food Blends : We have always witnessed people eating through feeding tube due to old age or some other medical health problems. These people don’t have sufficed taste except for corn syrup, water and vitamins. Real Food is changing that. The Indiana based startup is offering meal blends which are made of various different items such as orange, chicken, carrots, barley, quinoa, kale, hemp, salmon, oats and squash. It was crowd-funded on IndieGogo platform and founded by Julie Bombacino.
Hampton Creek : Everyday millions of eggs are consumed worldwide but Hampton Creek wants to change this. The San Francisco startup is producing egg-free alternatives in food. It produces mayo, cookies, cookie dough which are made up of egg-free ingredients. The CEO of the company is Josh Tetrick and it has funding of $30 million from various venture companies like AME Cloud Ventures, Horizons Ventures, Eagle Cliff Partners, Collaborative Fund, Khosla Ventures and other investors as well.
Beyond Meat : Ever turned into vegan or vegetarian but still longed the taste of those beef or chicken taste. No worries Beyond Meat is here to solve this problem. The company utilizes plant proteins to make alternative meat products for the environment, for conservation of natural resources and for animals. Its products are burgers, beef crumbles, BBQ chicken and many much more. The company main aim is to reduce 25% global meat consumption by 2020.
