What are proud moment for these startup founders! Top tech-startup founders received not only a handshake, but a formal conversation for about an hour to discuss the tech-startup ecosystem in India.
On his first trip to India, Apple CEO Tim Cook takes interest in meeting the founders of four tech-startups UrbanClap, Cynapse, SweetCouch and Avaz. The Apple CEO wishes to understand what India’s young mobile app developers are building. Urbanclap is a home service application,Cynapse is a software product maker, whereas Sweetcouch is an online shopping application and Avaz is into developing speech therapy app for autistic children.
These startups were chosen by the Apple team before Cook coming to India. The best thing happened to these startups that it was a surprise for them. They were only briefed that a developer meeting would be conducted with a team of Cupertino.
Raghav Chandra, co-founder of Urbanclap, Sweetcouch founder Rajesh Chokhani, Apurva Roy Choudhary, founder of Cynapse and Ajit Narayanan, runner of Avaz were the lucky picks by the Apple team. Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer and Oliver Schusser, VicePresident of iTunes International were also present in the meeting.
The meeting was held in Mumbai after Apple’s announcement of startup accelator program in Bengaluru.
