Tesla of Heavy Vehicles, Nikola plans to release first Electric Truck

Nikola announced Nikola One, first Electric Shipping truck that can run for 800 to 1200 miles on 320 kWh battery.

The next generation vehicles will not rely on oil. Advancement in technology is introducing electricity as powerful and always available source to drive them. From electric bike to electric car, and now a company build electric truck for shipping. Electric cars are already manufactured by leading manufacturer, but none targets industrial or heavy vehicles. The availability of this variation in heavy vehicles will reduce an impact on shipping cost as well. To overcome the issue, Nikola Motors introduces Nikola One a Truck and Nikola Zero Semi-Truck for transport and shipping.

Nikola One is a 2000 horsepower 6×6 self charging truck that runs on 320 kWh battery and offers a range of 1,200 miles. Buyers can reserve the model for $1,500 from the official website. Similar to this model Nikola Zero is a 520 horsepower 4×4 semi truck that runs on 50kWh battery and offers a range of 100-150 mile. Both the truck models are also available in different fuel variation like diesel, gasoline and natural gas.

Nikola builds premium electric vehicle alone targets the truck category. Almost all companies that are offering electric vehicles target cars as their primary model to service consumers.
