Startup Buzz Media portrays the life journey (including personal and professional) of Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder of Facebook. Born in New York in a well-educated family, this youth inspiration had interest in computers since childhood. Hence, at the age of 12, he created a messaging program “Zucknet”. The successful music software Pandora was also a brainchild of Mark that AOL and Microsoft were interested in buying.
While he was studying at the Harvard University, he created programs like CourseMatch and Facemash and later was hired to develop a social networking site called Harvard Connection. With this, he realized where his true interest and passion lies, and decided to work upon it. Hence, he dropped out of the University to work on his own social networking site with his couple of friends. Facebook was born on June 2004. Within a year, Facebook had 1 million users. Gradually, this social networking platform started receiving funds from investors like Accel Partners. Till date, no social networking website had managed to match the standards of Facebook.
The success of Facebook followed the acquisitions of ConnectU, FriendFeed, Friend.ly. , Instagram, Whatsapp and Oculus VR. With the growing years, there were add-ons to the features of Facebook like tagging, Marketplace, Facebook Chat, Voice Calls, Video Calls, Facebook Gifts, Moves and 360-degree photo to posts. In 2010, Mark Zuckerberg was the Person of the year from the Time Magazine and made in to the Fortune 500 list in 2013. The successful entrepreneur married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan. Recently, in 2015; the couple became parents of their beautiful daughter Max. Amidst all this, Mark being socially responsible had donated $100 million to Newark Public Schools in 2010.
