Startup Newbie Pocketin Raises Seed Money of $150,000

The four-month old Pocketin has raised a seed round funding of $150,000 from the Hong Kong based Swastika Company Ltd. The startup aims to consolidate the eating-out space in Delhi.
Pocketin offers an online platform for the foodies to discover, compare and choose where they want to eat, based on their offers, events or specific activities happening in restaurants. The clients can browse through the options and then decide on where to go.
Pocketin is the first technological platform of its kind as it allows the restaurants to incentivize themselves depending on their special events, celebrations and packages. It operates a pioneer autopilot technology, which helps push curated deals to respective diners in the absence of the merchant on the platform. Thus, it ensures that the client gets the proper information from all diners, in the shortest time possible.
The fund raised will be put into use to branch across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon. It will also be utilized to make the core team more solid. Pocketin kick-started its journey in September 2015 as the brainchild of Kshitij Mehra, Anirudh Mondal, Rahul Arora, Siddharth Sharma and Akshay Utreja.
“We aim to create a platform which not only helps people discover new restaurants but also make their experience pocket friendly by offering them the best possible deals and discounts through our unique Real Time deal discovery and comparison engine.” said Kshitij Mehra, CEO of Pocketin.
