Renowned e-commerce platform Snapdeal recently announced the opening of its data science centre in California, United States, which will be led by Nitin Sharma, the Senior Vice President of Data Sciences at Snapdeal. Rohit Bansal is the co-founder of Snapdeal. It all started last year when the competition between Amazon India, Flipkart and Snapdeal became cut-throat. Hence, it was time for Snapdeal to do something out-of-the box.
The centre is meant to focus on big data and advanced analytics to support its customer initiatives, while reshaping the business strategy of the platform to optimize its operational efficiencies with the help of data and analytics. This, in turn, will fetch an ultimate user experience and strengthen the supply chain. The well-known e-commerce portal is expecting growth and insightful guidance from this data center.
Snapdeal looks forward to get global talent on-board and develop high-value solutions through the data centre. Currently, the company is extensively working on data mining through an existing analytics team.
By 2020, Snapdeal have plans to have 20 million transacting users daily. With the help of the data centre, Snapdeal have chances of regaining its position in the market.
