ShoppinPal, a Pune-based retail tech startup, has just raised $1.07 million in Series A round of funding. The round was led by Plug and Play Tech Center and Steelhead Ventures. The startup aims at using these funds to connect offline brands with e-commerce stores in India.

The startup, with offices in Pune and San Francisco, gets 80% of business from outside India. But with the latest funding, it will start working towards strengthening the Indian retail tech sector. The plan is to get more retailers on to the online platform and boost the overall sales.

Investors’ Profile

Silicon Valley based Plug and Play Tech Center is one of the major investor. ShoppinPal stands an excellent chance of profiting from its network of investors and serial entrepreneurs. The company has previously invested in today’s global giants like Google and PayPal. On the other hand, the second investor, Steelhead Ventures, specializes in focusing on seed and Series A investments into promising startups.
