Salesfloor, a software-as-a-service(Saas) platform that permits consumers to shop online with their local store and associate, has closed a $ 3 million seed funding round led by BDC Capital It Venture Fund and London based angels Jamie True and Jon Claydon.
“We call it People Powered Ecommerce,” said Salesfloor CEO Oscar Sachs. “We are redefining the role of today’s retail associate so they can drive online business. That’s how online shopping will grow to the next level and make retail jobs more exciting and rewarding than ever. ”
Since launch, Salesfloor is performing with luxury retailers including Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Stuart Weitzman and Harry Rosen, and big box retailers such as Toys “R” Us to use its suite of desktop and mobile products for assisting shoppers’ increasingly omni channel behaviour.
“Today’s all-channel customer wants a high level of service, regardless of channel,” said Joe Milano, Saks Senior Vice President Digital Retail. “Salesfloor helped us address that opportunity and our associates are seeing real success.”
Salesfloor will utilize the investment to invade global markets and expand product development for new features and industry-specific modules. In addition, funding will also be used to significantly develop the team. Alistair Crane, the former Chief Revenue Officer of Monitise PLC,has been recently hired by Salesfloor to lead global sales.
The company’s income is increasing in excess of 100% year-on-year. Activity in the US has been carried out by department stores and big box retailers in various retail categories, while early adoption of Salesfloor in Europe has been led by luxury fashion brands.
