Quikr Takes Over Salosa, An On-demand Beauty Startup

Quikr is one of the best hyperlocal on-demand service platform. The acquisition amount by Quikr remains undisclosed.
Founded in September 2015 by former Procter & Gamble executives Piyush Dhanuka and Anurag Nair, Salosa is an on-demand beauty startup who has been a partner with QuikrServices. Now, Quikr buys Salosa for an undisclosed amount. It has a professional team of in-house beauticians. Currently, Salosa operates in Gurgaon and few parts of Delhi.
Quikr is a one-stop shop for buying and selling used products by enabling smooth payments and logistics on its platform. Till now, it has raised $346 million from investors including Tiger Global Management, Warburg Pincus and Norwest Venture Partners. This acquisition will push Quikr to expand into the home services segment. At present, the ever-growing beauty service market in India values around $5 billion.
Quikr has rivals like OLX, CarDekho, CarTrade, Babajob, AasanJobs and so on. It is focusing on five key business lines such as automobiles, real estate, jobs, services and customer-to-customer sales. Further, the company plans to invest Rs. 250 crore in the home service sector.
