About Sminq & its seed funding round
Pune-based queue management app, Sminq lately raises $1 Mn in a seed round of funding, which was led by Saama Capital and Blume Ventures. Angel investor Vaibhav Domkundwar of micro-venture firm Better Inc. also participated in the round.
Launched in July 2015 by TastyKhana founders Shachin Bharadwaj, Sheldon Dsouza and Santhosh N, Sminq stands for See Me In No Queue. As per its name, the app lets users to avoid long queues without being physically present at the place; thus saving a lot of time and energy. You can book your appointment via app. Sminq has changed the way of how we look at queues- crowded and tiresome.
Currently, Sminq is being used in clinics in Pune, having 40 subscribed doctors on its platform. Queuelo and Qtix give direct competition to Sminq.
Using the funds
With this investment, Suresh Shanmugham, managing director, Saama Capital will be a part of the company board. The funds will be used in getting more services and enhancing the currently-used technology for better offerings.

Shachin Bharadwaj said, “We have been in the market for close to a year now, and see a very good product market fit for Sminq. We are already generating revenues and have seen great traction when it comes to user engagement with the app. We plan to use the funds to get more services on Sminq and also improve our technology offering”.
Talking about the investors, Shanmugham said “The Sminq team and its technology have successfully proven how waiting in physical queues can be eliminated in the medical consulting space. Extension of this value-added service in other prospective areas will open up vast business opportunities for Sminq”.
