Startup URX was founded a couple of years ago. It is a mobile advertising platform. In 2013 it raised a $3.1 million funding in A Series and overall in the last four rounds of funding it has raised $15 million. Most of the ecommerce platforms today have a mobile app. URX allow ecommerce companies to target more users and re-pitch their products to the existing one. URX is a deep linking search engine that works on mobile apps. URX has a platform that analyzes the product page of an ecommerce app. And then it can provide different ad variants.

Pinterest on the other side is a visual bookmarking social media. A huge platform that let users to bookmark a variety of web pages, images, etc. News sources reveal that Pinterest has plans to acquire URX. But yet nothing is clarified. An acquisition of social media platform with mobile advertising proves pinterest keen interest in expansion or a future plan for effective ROI. The acquisition role is still unclear.

Many startups are catching eyes of other companies that can provide them an extensive service and a broader platform to grow. Pinterest has been talking with the staff of URX to pitch a stock deal that will come into news soon.
