Overnight: App for Night Halt

Overnight, your substitute for pricey hotels!
Overnight is a Los-Angeles startup that develops an iOS app, which helps you to crash at a local’s place at the last moment. All you have to do is request a room with a tap on the app and wait for the response; within 45 seconds, you are sure to get the list of locals who are ready to give you a room in their abode to stay for a night. However, it all happens after the host approves the potential guest. You have to login with your Facebook account for verification. The host checks your profile and whether you have any mutual friend. As the host accepts you, a message will pop up displaying the images and details of the place. If you approve, you get an option to pay for the room and chat with the host to coordinate. It is comparatively much cheaper than hotels, resorts and guest houses.
The startup got seed funding of $2.3 million from Accomplice and CrossCut Ventures. Now, it is in the process of extending its services to Austin and San Francisco. Moreover, it has hosts scattered across 40 countries around the world. Overnight revenue comes from the share earned by the host. Asher Hunt is the co-founder and CEO of Overnight.
Till now, Overnight is witnessing 300 requests per night in LA. This record is a sign of progress.
