Oracle declares its first group of Startup finalists

Great Going Oracle!

Recently, Oracle announced the first group of start-up finalists for the Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator Program, which was launched in April 2016 at Oracle Cloud World in Mumbai. The program acts as a catalyst to boost India’s startup ecosystem as well as support the country’s Digital India initiatives. In such a short span, the program has received a great response from tech and tech-related startups.

The Oracle Startup Cloud Accelerator is a first-of-its-kind global startup accelerator initiative by Oracle. Oracle India is leading the initiative for the company. The initiative targets midsize firms, including MSMEs micro, small, medium-sized enterprises and startups, which are recognized as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy that contributes more than 37 percent to India’s GDP.

To review each application, a panel of judges that included the advisors and mentors of the program as well as senior executives from Oracle were appointed. The judges were to rigorously evaluate the business concept, a level of innovation, scalability and potential to solve real-life problems for their customers. Moreover, the startups should also make a difference to their target audience. After all these, panelists chose these five start-ups:

ExpertRec: a plug-n-play search and recommendation engine for online marketplaces in an easy to use SaaS integration. The customers need to add a single line of code to enable these advanced features on their website.

Niyo Solutions: a Fin-Tech startup focused on alternate payment mechanisms.

Ray iCare: an artificial intelligence device used for monitoring Epilepsy, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Cardiac Attacks in sleep. It can be installed on a wall. The device will notify attacks to caretakers through a mobile app.

Tydy: a mobile-first, automated employee onboarding platform. It gives executives a clear picture of the performance of the onboarding process that was never quantified before.

Vear: an AR/VR technology platform that is device agnostic. It can be used by brands to distribute their content, campaigns and more to end users through augmented/virtual reality.
