Ola Starts outstation rides in Delhi, Jaipur

Recently, Ola launched its cab services in 75 more cities across India. Now, it’s time for Ola to extend its project to outstation services.
After the shut down of food and grocery delivery services in March 2016, now, Ola starts its outstation cab services in Delhi, NCR and Jaipur. All you need to is book your cab two hours before your start of the journey. It only allows cash transaction for paying for the journey. Ola Mini Cab will cost a base fare of Rs. 2,000 till 250 kilometers. After that, you will be charged a fixed rate of Rs. 8/ km. Ola is founded by ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in the year 2010. Initially, it used to offer outstation trips, but discarded later on and focuses on pick-and-drop service within the city.
With the relaunch of these outstation services, Ola aims to scale up its revenue, lead the public sector as well as make use of its diesel cars banned in Delhi by the Supreme Court. As per the industry executives, inter-city transportation is a lucrative market of $4-6 billion in India because of the high order values, unorganized transportation scenario, and traditional booking system through agents and operators in the world of technology.
US-based Uber Inc. is said to give the strongest competition to Ola. However, Uber is yet to enter the segment of outstation travelling. Some of the existing outstation trip service cabs include Meru, Savaari Car Rentals, Roder and MyTaxiIndia Pvt. Ltd.
Ola is a perfect example of a unicorn start-up. Today, its valuation is $5 billion. If these outstation rides prove a great success in the capital, Ola plans to expand them in other parts of India as well.
