No ‘Slack’ for Slack

Do you want to share documents at work easily? Do you want to easily collaborate with users at work? Do you want to manage projects efficiently? There lies an answer for you, all in one application, Slack. Slack is very similar for Facebook at work.

Founded by Stewark  Buttefield, Slack boasts of over 500,000 active users and generates a revenue of $1.2 billion

This company is going big and now seeking $150-300 million from investors. The valuation is priced at $3.5 – 4 billion with the most recent valuation reported to be at $2.8 billion.

Competing with the likes of Google, Hangouts and Skype, Slack is looking to add video and voice chat features.

Slack has its round of discussions with investors ongoing and nothing is finalized as of now. The lead investor is yet to come in place. As per recent reports, techie firms in Silicon Valley are losing its edge, but Slack is standing firm in the market. At the moment Silicon Valley is not too welcoming for startups but Slack is gaining momentum with valuations priced higher with each fiscal year.

Apart from the valuation reports, the chat firm is looking to invest further in various startups that could be integrated with Slack. This could widen the features offered by Slack. Definitely seems that this is not and end of, but the start of the road for Slack!
