Nirmala Sitharaman meets the budding entrepreneurs at the Founders Café

The government of India is making great effort to boost the promising entrepreneurs, under the Startup India action plan.

Commerce and Industry minister, Nirmala Sitharaman interacted with nascent entrepreneurs at the Founders Café, where encouraged the entrepreneurs to reach out to them without any hesitation. This meeting has fulfilled its basic aim of making the ministry more approachable by the entrepreneurs. To support this Sitharaman said, “Post 2nd half of budget session, all Delhi co-working spaces are to interact with startup cell and commerce ministry”.

The government has offered to take entrepreneurs’ suggestions related to liquidity issues, with help of Ministry of finance and RBI. Sitharaman reassured that provision for startups to get legal assistance is already incorporated under the Startup action plan.

Startup community is capable of creating various products and solutions, which will assist relevant government agencies in their functioning. And to make this possible the government has already announced incentives like 100% tax exemption for three out of five years for startups set up during April 2016 to March 2019, tax holiday etc., under the Startup India action plan.

Takeaways:

  • Commerce and Industry Ministry has become ‘a tweet away’ approachable for the entrepreneurs.
