New Innovative Gaming Startups Like Empower Labs, Greedy Games Are Redefining Mobile Gaming

Experimenting to stay ahead!

Gaming Startups are trying something New

From the past few years, India has been home to many innovative startups and that includes the gaming sector too. Gaming startups like Empower Labs, Greedy Games and Flixy Games have raised funding over the past 12 months where as many startups have closed.

What’s the reason behind it?

Newfangled key business players are experimenting different things like augmented reality (AR) or mid-core games for attracting more users and players. Most of the companies like Red Monster Games have closed down in the last one year due to insufficient funds as investors aren’t interested. So companies have to come up with new innovation to stay ahead of the game.

Flixy Games

Flixy Games, a Bangalore based startup, has recently raised seed funding of around $425,000 from Rebright Partners, a Japanese venture capital firm. The company is testing and trying out “gacha”, a Japanese-inspired business model. Gachaworks like slot machine. You have to spend some virtual currency for the possibility of item drop.

Greedy Games

Another Bangalore based game startup, Greedy Game, is also trying something new. Instead of going with old routine, they are emphasizing on game based advertising for mobile based games from which various business models will collaborate with game publishers to advertise it. This startup will not have usual ad banners or pop-up advertisement, but non-intrusive ads which will be combined into game.

Many investors like Rebright Partners perceive great potential in these startups since the availability of moderate cost cellphones is booming and rates of high speed data are dropping.

With the wide availability of low-cost smartphones and low cost data in market, will these new innovative games be profitable ? Do share your thoughts in our comment section below.
