Since Nelson Mandela strongly believed that literacy is a key to every success, more than phones, they are affordable educational devices. This project is a partnership of AG Media and Nelson Mandela Long Walk to Freedom Foundation, and is a Mandela day initiative.

Features of the Mandela Phone

The device has an inbuilt Madiba’s Journey app where users can explore the inspiring life of Mandela. Then, the users will be able to create a customized itinerary. Moreover, it features exclusive educational content in the form of pictures, wallpapers, quotes and more. All the content is approved. By finding key locations on the phone’s mapping system, users can follow directions and immerse themselves in narratives from poignant moments throughout South African history.
