Uber-like but to find tractor !

 Trringo– app for hailing tractors

A similar Uber-Like smartphone app has been introduced in India which is aiming to provide rental tractors for farmer. Even today many farmers still can’t afford their own tractors and have to often rent at high cost prices.  In order to solve this problem, renowned vehicle-maker Mahindra and Mahindra has launched an app called Trringo. This app will help farmer to rent tractor on hourly basis for Rs. 400 – Rs.700

In which places this service is available?

Trringo was launched last month in Karnataka and it will be soon launched in other farming states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and          Rajasthan. It owns number of own tractors as well many private owners have also signed up to rent their tractors for the service. Since 90% of rural areas in India don’t have Internet access, the company has also set up call centres so that one can also book via their telephones. After one has booked the service a tractor and driver will be sent from their 20 hubs across Karnataka.

Motto behind this app

Rajesh Jejurikar, chief executive officer of the company’s farm equipment division believes that it was struck with the toll it took on common farmer’s self-esteem. They were begging for it and didn’t feel as their rights. Pawan Goenka, Mahindra and Mahindra Executive Director, announced this plan first in March and aims that Trringo will maximize farmer’s output and which will directly lead to growth of our nation.

Trringo isn’t the first investment of Mahindra and Mahindra in digital startup. It also invested in Scoot Networks- ride-hailing service based in San Francisco past June.
