Women and Child Development Ministry has opened a new platform from rural women called as Mahila E-Haat. This comprehensive platform will help Women Entrepreneur to sell the product online with ease. They can sell their products like organic food, toys, etc on the website. The site will be managed by the Center and it is launched today on Women’s Day. India is a growing platform for eCommerce. Taking advantage of this growing scenario center planned for this online portal for women those who stay in rural area. It’s an opportunity for new entrepreneur to expand their sales area around the country. Mahila E-haat offer mobile accessibility. There is no commission charged on the product sell either to the seller or to the buyer. WCD Secretary V Somasundaram says”the ministry further will be working with National Mission of Employment controlled by Ministry of Rural Development to promote such ventures for rural development. Women entrepreneurs can easily register by submitting a form. They require having an email address. All submitted details will be moderated and then it will be displayed on the site. Pricing will be decided by Seller. Portals like e-haat help to remove intermediaries offering a direct sales profit to the seller.
