MadRat Games secures funding of $2.5 Million from Ratan Tata

MadRat Games , an ingenious  startup that provides wearable gaming platform, SuperSuit for Kids and families has raised funding from Ratan Tata. Ola’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Flipkart’s founder Binny Bansal, and Girish Mathrubootham of Freshdesk participated in the funding. The amount invested by Tata still remains undisclosed.

After this funding round, the total amount raised by startup comes to around $2.5 million.

About the company

MadRat is founded by Rajat Dhariwal who graduated from IIT Mumbai and Carnegie Mellon with his team members Madhumita Halder and Manuj Dhariwal in the year 2010.The Company launched the prototype of SuperSuit, world’s first wearable gaming platform in Vegas this January.

This gaming platform reduces screen time, increases social interaction, physical activities, and takes kids and families to outdoors to play with each other. at Consumer Electronic Show 2016 in Vegas. Kids between 2-12 years can use this product. Supersuit early bird registration is opened and its pre-order campaign will start in September 2016.

The Startup aims to break the wearable video gaming market. Rajat quoted to the ToyNews that the indoor gaming market (both toys and video games) is about $180 Bn and the outdoor sector around $145 Bn with the SuperSuit MadRat is expecting to carve out an untapped market of $100 billion.
