Madefire, A Digital Comics Startup Introduces Its First Ever VR App.

Taking Virtual Reality To Next Level !
Madefire, a US-based comic startup, recently announced its new funding round and moreover Ben Wolsten holme, Co-founder and CEO, proclaimed that the company is moving towards virtual and augmented reality. At Comic Con 2016, New York,he demonstrating a preview of their new app for Samsung’s Oculus-powered Gear VR platform. He wanted to build such a “native digital experience” that would revolutionize the entire comic reading experience. After the demo, you can still say it is basically just like reading comic but also with music, sound and animation effects.
How will it improvise the comic reading experience?
Mr. Wolsten holme described this methodology as an addition of third dimension to VR experience. It’s not 3D comics but it will make you feel soaring in front of comics’ panel. This new app is so immersive and much better reading experience compared to tablet or smartphone screen. One can also comprise 360-degree view in comics. Their authoring tool will make it easy for comic creators to modify and control the 3D aspect of their respective art or comic.
Future plans of the startup
The startup is trying to improve its comic library before this December. At the present moment, the demo app consists of sample edition titles such as DC’s Injustice: Year One and Madefire original Mono: The old Curiosity Shop (created by Wolstenholme and Liam Sharp)
Dave Gibbons, a comic artist who has been working with Madefire for a few years now, praised this new Madefire format and VR support as it gives more options to artists for enhanced reading experience. He believes that comic characters have moved into other sources like movies. He feels like we are seeing the same thing again and again but it’s now time to create something new and engaging like this VR app.
