New York based online product recommendation platform raises money!
What is Kit?
Kit- the New York based startup has now secured $2.5 million from Social Capital Precursor Ventures, April Underwood, Ellen Pao, Authentic Ventures, Black Angel Tech Fund, and Expa. The social online platform helps users to choose and review products that they have used; it is commonly known as kits such as “My Desk Setup”, “My photography Bag” and much more. The best part about Kit is user can make money on their Kit if they use their own Amazon Affiliated ID.
What does the company do?
The brain behind this company is of Naveen Selvaduraj, Expa partner and Foursquare and Camille Hearst, CEO of Kit. The new funding will be used for and influencers (those who already have a social media following who will join them on Kit). Various categories are included day-by-day such as photography, videography, gaming and desk equipment and holistic, natural products also like healthcare, skincare and beauty products.
The site still has to monetize and as of now it is focused on expanding the user base and discovering products.
Hearst believes that this funding will help their company to experiment and examine various business models. Lately it has been focused on influencer and creator experienced. Expa is a startup studio which has backed various start-ups and raised over $150 million, Kit is one of them.
